LB Miller Agar is based on the formulation of MILLER (1972) supporting growth of E. coli in fermentation and molecular genetic studies.

Directions for use | For the preparation of 1 liter culture media: 1. Suspend 40 g of Luria Bertani-Miller Agar in 1 liter of distilled or demineralized water. 2. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. 3. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. The agar prepared is clear and yellowish brown. 4. Cool to 45 - 50 °C. 5. Mix well before pouring into sterile Petri plates. 6. Leave to gel with the lid slightly open. |
