DMT cuts the sequence GAmTC (where A is methylated) but does not cut the sequence GATC (where A is not methylated). This enzyme can cut DNA prepared from the most commonly used E. coli strains (dam+ strain), but does not cut PCR products. This product is suitable for use in in vitro site-directed DNA mutagenesis, and degradation of methylated plasmid templates. Restriction site:
