Scientific Marketing Communications Assistant

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join a leading biotech company with branches in Cambridge (UK), Houston (US) and Zoetermeer (NL), providing products and services globally.

We are looking for a hard-working, competent and organized individual to join our high-paced, dynamic Digital Marketing team in Bar Hill. You will be responsible for managing relationships and discovering new leads, suggesting improvements to processes, and assisting in delivering first class scientific content through a wide variety of marketing channels. 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Managing relationships with our existing distribution partners (maintaining regular communication, keeping track of sales and growth, and identifying new avenues for content delivery)
  • Managing relationships with our channel partners and identifying new channels, markets and opportunities for sales and growth
  • Generating leads in compliance with GDPR
  • Monitoring and evaluating competitors in relation to our own content and marketing
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing current digital marketing processes and improving/optimising them where appropriate
  • Setting up, monitoring and evaluating impact for digital advertising (Google & Bing Ads etc)
  • Monitoring and reporting on other Google tracking: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager
  • Maintaining / improving the website SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
  • Assisting with the design aspects and appearance of the company website and Back Office
  • Assisting with other marketing tasks as required, such as promotions and marketing materials
  • Assisting in maintaining scientific content for our website including press releases, blogs, case studies and other content creation
  • Identifying and suggesting automation and/or improvements for front and back end processes, workflow and functionality

Desired Skills & Experience

 Required:

  • A Level Biology or sound knowledge of, and interest in, Biology
  • Marketing qualification or experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Good communication skills, telephone manner, and tone

Advantageous:

  • Life sciences degree (BSc, MRes, MSc, PhD) or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and SEO
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Tenacious with a keen eye for detail

Full training will be provided. You will be organized, decisive, efficient and practical. You will have an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
