Keeping our Risk Low - Advice from Abbexa

Arriving into a Building (Home/Work/Shopping)

with hand gel, before reaching for keys/door handles

Sanitise again if removing your coat/shoes

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds

When Home

Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth

Use a tissue or bent elbow when sneezing/coughing

Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash hands afterwards

When Outside Your Home (Shopping)

Order online where possible to avoid going out

Wear a face mask and glasses/sunglasses if possible when shopping

Wear disposable gloves, touching as few things as possible

Try not to touch items and objects if it can be avoided

Dispose of your single use face mask after visiting the supermarket without touching the outside of the mask

Keep approximately 3 metres distance from people who are not members of your household

At Work

Wear a face mask when talking with colleagues

When leaving your work station for any reason wash your hands first, then proceed

Sterilise your work station and any door handles you touch, at least daily when you finish

Keep doors open where possible, so no contact is required to move through the building

General Advice

Wash and/or sanitise your hands as often as possible

Aim to shop once every 2 weeks or as seldom as possible

Only one person should shop for the whole household

Stay home if you feel unwell

Practical Tip

A face mask offers protection in 2 ways: it protects other people by preventing any droplets from you and it protects you from other people who are not wearing face masks and project their droplets onto you.

If you do not have access to a regular supply of face masks and wish to reuse your single use face mask, please ensure that you do not come into contact with people not wearing face masks.
