Bind-Silane can be used to covalently attach polyacrylamide gels to a glass surface. The gel stays firmly attached to the glass during staining and drying procedures.

Directions for use When preparing the polyacrylamide gel, it is recommended to soak the glass plate in 1 M NaOH. The plate can then be washed with detergent, followed by deionized water, and finally wiped with ethanol.

Treatment of glass plates:
Note: Glass plates should be treated with Bind-Silane before each coating.
  1. Dip a small amount (approximately 1 ml) of Bind-Silane solution with lens paper and apply it on a glass plate. Apply once from top to bottom and once from left to right, to coat the entire glass plate and spread evenly.
  2. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, then gently wipe the glass plate with clean lens paper to remove excess Bind-Silane.
    Note: If the end user needs to reuse the glass plate, it can be soaked in 1 M NaOH overnight, and then rinsed with plenty of distilled water.
