Abbexa Ltd has been granted a licence by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA), authorising the organisation to “store of relevant material, which has come from a human body, for the scheduled purpose of research in connection with disorders, or the functioning, of the human body.”
The award of the HTA licence confirms that Abbexa Ltd meets the HTA’s rigorous research licensing standards. This represents a significant milestone for Abbexa Ltd and reinforces its commitment to the highest standards of quality and the advancement of scientific research.
“Being granted an HTA licence is an important achievement for our team,” said Sabrina Preston, Managing Director. “Abbexa is now positioned to support a broader range of scientific and research applications, supporting our belief that better tools and a spirit of curiosity lead to better science.”
Since 2005, the HTA regulates organisations that remove, store, use, and dispose of human tissue for scheduled purposes in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. HTA licensing helps ensure that human tissue is used safely, ethically, and with appropriate consent.
