Acid Phosphatase (ACP) Assay Kit is an Assay Kit by Colorimetric Method for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, urine and hydrothorax using a microplate reader. Acid phosphatase decomposes disodium phenyl phosphate under acidic conditions to produce free phenol and phosphoric acid. Phenol reacts with 4-aminoantipyrine in alkaline solution, and oxidizes to a derivative of red quinone in the presence of potassium ferricyanide. The activity of acid phosphatase can be calculated by measuring the OD value at 520 nm. This kit is also available for the Spectrophotometric detection - abx295023.
