Anti-Mycoplasma Treatment Reagent (200X) is used to avoid mycoplasma contamination in cell culture, and is provided as a yellow-green solution. This product inhbibits DNA replication and protein synthesis of mycoplasmas.

Storage Store at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks or at -20°C for up to 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Avoid exposure to light.
Validity Long periods of exposure to light will affect the validity. This can cause the color to change from yellow-green to grey-green or dark brown. Do not use if a color change is observed.

Directions for use
  • Dilute Anti-Mycoplasma Treatment Reagent (200X) in freshly prepared complete culture medium at a 1/200 dilution.
  • Cells should be rinsed with PBS at the start of treatment and in between media changes.
  • Treatment should be carried out daily for 3 consecutive days for a total of 6 treatments. It is recommended to check once a week for mycoplasma contamination.
  • If cells are still contaminated after 3 weeks, increase the concentration of the Treatment Reagent to 1/100.
  • Once the infection is cleared, it is recommended to test cultures every 2 months to prevent re-contamination.
  • This product can be used as a preventative measure, particularly if cells are being cultured for long periods of time or if equipment is shared. It is recommended to add to complete culture medium at a 1/1000 dilution every 2-3 weeks. If culturing embyonic stem cells, the recommended dilution is 1/2000.
