Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) reduces Fe³⁺ to Fe²⁺. Fe²⁺ reacts with phenanthroline, and a color developing reaction occurs. The absorbance is measued and then the concentration of vitamin C in sample can be indirectly determined.
