Avidin is a protein isolated from hen egg white. Avidin can bind biotin with a high degree of affinity and specificity. It is a glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 4 subunits, each with a binding site for biotin.

Purification Purified by affinity chromatography.
Reconstitution Reconstitute in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O for a final concentration between 100 µg/ml and 10 mg/ml.
Storage Stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks. Store the lyophilized product desiccated below -18 °C. After reconstitution, store at 4 °C for up to 7 days or below 18 °C for long-term storage. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
