| Introduction | Anti-Double Stranded DNA Antibodies (Anti-dsDNA) are a class of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) which target the DNA in the nucleus (as opposed to nuclear proteins or ribonucleoproteins). These autoantibodies are seen in high titres in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients, and temporarily in lower titres with people receiving anti-TNFα therapies or infected with parvovirus B19. Anti-dsDNA titre is used in the diagnosis of SLE. |
