Glucose Assay Kit for detection of Glucose in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates using a spectrophotometer. Glucose oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of glucose to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of chromogenic oxygen receptors, peroxidase catalyzes hydrogen peroxide and oxidizes pigment sources to form colored substances. The concentration of glucose in samples can be calculated indirectly by measuring the absorbance at 505 nm.
