Directions for use |
Suggested Protocol for Preparation of Cell Culture Medium: - Thaw Human Platelet Lysate overnight at 4 °C or for 1 hour in a 37 °C water bath. Insoluble particles or powdery precipitations may form in thawed Human Platelet Lysate but do not affect cell culture performance. If removal of insoluble particles is desired, centrifuge pure Human Platelet Lysate at 3400 × g for 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare complete cell culture medium by adding 10% (v/v) Human Platelet Lysate to basal medium (e.g. MEM alpha, DMEM), together with 2 mM L-glutamine and 100 U/mL Penicillin/Streptomycin as final concentration. Please note: Final concentration of Human Platelet Lysate in cell culture medium can vary depending on cell type and experimental conditions. It is recommended to determine the optimal concentration – between 1% and 10% (v/v) – for the cells of interest.
Notes: - Platelet Lysate is fibrinogen-depleted and does not require the addition of heparin.
- Complete cell culture medium can be stored at 4°C and is stable for approximately 4 weeks.
