MEM Alpha (Powder)

Minimal Essential Media with alpha modifications (MEM alpha) contains non-essential amino acids (NEAA), sodium pyruvate, zinc sulfate, vitamin B12, biotin and ascorbic acid in addition to MEM. It is widely used for mammalian suspension and adherent cell cultures.

The 1 × 10 L size is provided as 1 bottle containing lyophilized powder for 10 L of 1X MEM alpha. The 1 × 50 L size is provided as 1 bottle containing lyophilized powder for 50 L of 1X MEM alpha.

Storage	Store between 2-8 °C. Avoid exposure to light.

Buffer	After reconstitution: pH 7.2-7.4, containing 1000 mg/L D-glucose, 2 mM L-glutamine, 10 mg/L phenol red and 1 mM sodium pyruvate. Contains nucleosides. Does not contain HEPES.
