Myelin-Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 21 amino acids. The product of this gene is a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost surface of myelin sheaths. Due to this localization, it is a primary target antigen involved in immune-mediated demyelination. This protein may be involved in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

Reconstitution It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MOG in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HAS or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
