SDS-PAGE Sample Loading Buffer is a 2X concentrated solution based on Bromophenol blue dye for use in SDS-PAGE protein sample loading.

Tested Applications WB
Storage Store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Shelf Life 12 months.
Buffer Contains Tris-HCl buffer, SDS, DTT, Bromophenol Blue and glycerol.

Directions for use
  1. Allow to stand in a water bath at a temperature between room temperature and 37 °C until all precipitates/sediments have dissolved. Then, allow to stand at room temperature.
  2. Add sample to the 2X SDS-PAGE Sample Loading Buffer in a ratio of 1:1 (e.g. add 1 µl of sample to 1 µl of 2X SDS-PAGE Sample Loading Buffer).
  3. Fully denature the sample at 100 °C or in a boiling water bath for 3-5 min.
  4. Cool the sample to room temperature, then load and carry out electrophoresis.
  5. Stop electrophoresis when the bromophenol blue dye reaches the bottom of the gel.

Notes:
  • If SDS sediments appear in the SDS-PAGE Sample Loading Buffer at room temperature, they can be dissolved using a warm water bath.
  • This product contains DTT, which can have a distinct odour.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as lab coats, lab glasses and disposable gloves, are recommended when using this product.
