Total Antioxidant Capacity Assay Kit for detection the TAC in serum, plasma, urine, saliva, tissue homogenates and cell lysates using a microplate reader (ABTS Enzymatic Method). ABTS is oxidized to green ABTS+ using an oxidizing reagent, which can be inhibited if antioxidants are present. The TAC of the sample can be determined and calculated by measuring the absorbance of ABTS+ at 414 nm or 734 nm. Trolox is an analog of Vitamin E, has a similar antioxidant capacity to that of Vitamin E, and is used as a reference for other antioxidants.
